Fancy a festive deep dive into the secret world of magic and illusion with Professor Richard Wiseman?
Join us online for some midwinter mind-magic! How do magicians create illusions? How do they produce solid objects from thin air, make elephants vanish, and defy gravity?
Come and meet psychologist, best-selling author, and Member of the Inner Magic Circle, Professor Richard Wiseman for this interactive session created especially for GROVE! Richard takes us on an entertaining and thought-provoking journey to discover how easily our minds can be fooled… Blending science, psychology, and a touch of wonder, Richard will draw on his work as a conjurer and his research on the psychology of magic and deception. Meet Richard, and enjoy some Midwinter magic and festive foolery – joining in and questions welcomed!
See some of the world’s great optical illusions, explore the secret psychology of magic, find out why learning to perform the impossible could be good for you… An entertaining and interactive journey into the fascinating world of mystery and magic.
To ensure the event is accessible to everyone, tickets will be offered free of charge. Attendees will have the option to make a ‘pay-what-you-can’ donation that is ring-fenced by GROVE for staff and facilitator fees for these one-off workshops with any remaining funds will be used to provide free or reduced-cost places at future GROVE workshops for individuals who would otherwise be unable to attend due to financial constraints.
We are very grateful to Professor Wiseman, who has generously donated his time to us for this event.
